Furious Mansfield shopkeeper's anger after thieves raid town centre shop

Owner Jeremy Chandler discovered his Arcade Collectables shop in the popular Handley Arcade had been targeted when he opened for business on Thursday (April 22).
The 61-year-old says access was gained via an upstairs window overnight.

Hide AdAround £400 of stock and cash was stolen in the raid, which happened just days before The Arcade Treasure Chest nearby was targeted.
“They made a right mess, not only did they steal stock, they smashed glassware and crockery too,” Jeremy told Chad.
"It’s upsetting to hear another shop in the arcade has been targeted too – I hope they catch whoever is responsible before they do it again.”
Police are keeping an ‘open mind’ as to whether the two raids are linked but both premises were accessed by upstairs windows and via scaffolding in place for roofing work.

Hide AdSgt Neil Priestley said: “Nottinghamshire Police were called following a shop theft sometime between 4.30pm on 21 April and 9.15am on 22 April.
"It appears that the offenders gained entry through an upstairs window and hundreds pounds worth of items, including coins and rings were taken, as well as cash from the till.
"We are currently keeping an open mind as to whether the burglary may be linked to that of The Arcade Treasure Chest on April 27.
“We have also increased patrols in the areas to provide reassurance to local businesses and will be engaging with them to offer crime prevention advice."
