A homeless man who stole nearly £1,000 of booze and sweets from shops in Sutton has been locked up.

Karl Reddy stole alcohol worth £160 on March 23, £60 on March 27, £80 on March 28, and £532 on March 30, from the Co-Op in Sutton, and £157 of confectionary, from Tesco in Huthwaite, on March 13.

Reddy, 36, admitted the offences at Nottingham Magistrates Court, on April 3, and was jailed for a total of 24 weeks. He must pay a £122 surcharge.
