Hide AdInsp Crawford said: "People sometimes come across the police when they are having the worse time in their life. It was important for me to revisit this lady and assure her she was not forgotten and check that she was receiving the support she needed.
"The police are busy but sometimes just taking that time to revisit someone after the dust has settled is important and shows the compassion we have and helps to build trust in the community.
"We care about people's safety and we want people to be ok and that's what we are here to do - to protect life and prevent harm.”
"I'm so touched to receive these gifts, the lady was so lovely, and really didn't need to go any trouble."
