Man hit with bottles and robbed in Mansfield attack which left him in the hospital

Police were called to Jubilee Way South in at around 4.10pm on Monday, July 19, afternoon after the man was reported to have suffered head injuries.
It is thought that the man had been attacked by two women and a man who hit him with glass bottles before taking some of his personal items including his wallet.

Hide AdThe victim was taken to hospital for treatment but has since been discharged.
Detectives are now appealing for anyone who may have information on the incident to come forward.
Detective Sergeant Matt Scott, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This was a violent attack that has left a man hospitalised and we will be investigating this incident thoroughly.
“Whenever violence is used there is always the chance for serious consequences and we are working hard to establish what happened.

Hide Ad“It is totally unacceptable that someone would do this but as the incident is reported to have happened in broad daylight, we think that people may have seen or heard something that could help our investigation.
“If you were in the area at the time and witnessed something suspicious, no matter how insignificant you think it may be, please do not hesitate to contact us.”

It is the third reported assault in the Mansfield area over the past few days, with other incidents in Rosemary Street and Toothill Lane over the weekend.
