Mum Autumn, 23, of Yorke Street, Mansfield Woodhouse, had started to have the baby - which was almost two weeks late - whilst Angela was driving her to the hospital.
Angela said: “I tried to get her to the hospital as quick as possible, and I just pulled up outside the main entrance of the hospital when David ran in to get somebody.
“But Autumn said she could feel him arriving, so I ran around the back of the car and he was born straight away.

Autumn said she was scared when she first started to have the baby, but said Angela’s help was amazing.
She said: “Grandma has no end of talents. When William grows up, I will tell him how amazing she is.”
Dad David, 27, said he was shocked when the baby was born outside the hospital.
He said: “It was overwhelming. The staff came straight out and took him inside. They were great.”
“But I don’t know what I would have done without my grandma there, she is fantastic.”
