Tools and bikes targeted by burglars in Annesley Woodhouse
Inspector Nick Butler, of Hucknall police, said: “Garages are being targeted in the villages and rural areas, with tools and cycles being the most sought after items.
“Please ensure your garages are securely locked and if you keep your cycle in there please use a heavy duty security chain to add a second layer of defence.

Hide Ad“If possible extend your house alarm system to cover the garage or alternately fit a standalone alarm. Motor cycles are also being targeted, in some cases just for parts.”
Attempts were made to raid four garages in Annesley Woodhouse in the space of a week.
Thieves tried to enter a garage in Forest Road but nothing sometime between Friday 29th May and Tuesday 2nd June.
A Black and Decker petrol strimmer and a bright orange wacker plate were stolen from an unlocked garage in Lawns Road overnight on Friday 29th May.

Hide AdA mat grey and blue coloured Cube Championship bike was stolen from a locked garage in Westfield Road, on Saturday 30th.
On Tuesday 2nd June between 12.15am and 12.45am in Forest Gardens, Annesley Woodhouse, a garage door was forced and items removed.
Burglars also raided two garages in Selston during the same period, with a grey and black Trek 6000 mountain bike was stolen from a locked garage.
In Underwood, a Citroen Relay van was broken into and two red and black petrol driven Stihl saws were stolen; while in Westwood, the exhaust was removed from a motor bike and left on the front garden.
